This bathroom refurbishment at York Mansions, Battersea involved the complete removal of the existing sanitaryware, wall and floor tiles, built-in furniture, and sections of flooring where necessary to investigate and upgrade the existing plumbing and waste systems. Following a detailed assessment of the property’s water supply and pipework, a new hot water cylinder was installed to resolve low water pressure issues and improve hot water performance throughout the apartment.
The room was reconfigured with upgraded plumbing installations, new drainage connections, and comprehensive waterproofing systems. Moisture-resistant materials and tanking membranes were applied throughout the wet areas before the installation of new wall and floor tiles. The refurbishment also included the construction of a bespoke cupboard enclosure around the hot water cylinder, installation of a new shower enclosure with thermostatic controls, vanity unit with basin, WC, heated towel rail, lighting, and extractor fan.
The project was completed with full decoration to ceilings, walls, and woodwork, resulting in a bright, practical, and elegant bathroom that combines modern functionality with a timeless finish.
Budget – £15,000
